Butterflies with Hostility

This week I’ve added some new Butterflies to the mod based on the fantastic TV Series Peacemaker. These Butterflies are actually alien invaders, infesting Villagers and Illagers in order to take over your Minecraft worlds. Be wary of Villagers behaving in odd ways…

Peacemaker Butterflies

You may come across these creatures in unexpected circumstances. Though they look like Butterflies, they are only similar in appearance. They are much larger than even Huge Butterflies, and have a vicious bite that can hurt anyone who comes near.

These mysterious creatures are not of this world, maybe not even of any known dimension. Only time will tell where their invasion originates.

Infested

Peacemaker Butterflies will try to infest Villagers and Illagers in their attempt to take over the world. Keep an eye out for Villagers exhibiting strange behaviours if you want to keep your villages clean. And when you do release a Peacemaker Butterfly, DO NOT let them find another body to hide in!

But I Just Want Pretty Butterflies!

I’m aware that not everyone will like the idea of hostile butterflies being added to a mod commonly used in more peaceful Cottage Core modpacks, so there are a couple of easy ways to prevent Peacemaker Butterflies from appearing in your world.

Since Peacemaker Butterflies are MONSTERS, the easiest way is to set your difficulty to Peaceful. This is great for players who enjoy Peaceful mode anyway, but what if you want to play in Normal or Hard, but without the Peacemaker butterflies?

	#If true, hostile butterflies will spawn.
	enable_hostile_butterflies = true

For that I’ve added a Common Config Option, enable_hostile_butterflies, that defaults to true. By setting this to false Peacemaker Butterflies will no longer spawn in any of your worlds. Modpack authors can also use this config to ensure a more tranquil experience with the mod.

Release

This version of the mod likely won’t be released until tomorrow. Currently I’m in China with no VPN, so I can’t download the dependencies needed to port the mod to different versions. I’ll be in New Zealand tomorrow though, so I’ll work on it after I arrive!
