One of many small temples that lines the streets of Vientiane is Wat Khao Nhot. Likely destroyed by the Siam during the rebellion of Chao Avouvong in1927, this is a reconstruction. This is a small temple, and it was closed the day we went past.
Still, I managed to get some images of the shrines surrounding the main hall. One shrine contains an ancient bell, presumably preserved from the old temple ruins.

Another shrine is newer, a golden Buddha protected by Naga as is Laotian tradition.

Seeing these small temples dotted around gives you the impression that Vientiane is a city of temples. You can’t walk five minutes without finding another shrine or temple, and our next destination would be no exception to this rule.
