Advancements are a useful tool for game developers for two reasons. First, they provide a reward for players who achieve great things in the game. And second, they can act as a hidden tutorial for players, informing them of features they may not be aware of.
Peacemaker Advancements
I added Peacemaker Butterflies to the mod as a hostile alien entity for a bit of flavour. However, players may not be aware of the things they can do with Peacemaker Butterflies. Their first encounter will involve them being attacked by one of these Butterflies, and they will likely kill it first. They may not realise it’s actually possible to catch them with a Butterfly Net.

Advancements can help here. By adding in a few advancements for basic tasks such as Catch a Peacemaker Butterfly, players can check the advancement tree and see all of the things they can do with these hostile mobs. Adding in some hidden advancements for some more advanced tasks (such as killing one of each Peacemaker Entity), also provides players with some extra goals they can attempt to achieve in the mod.
To Catch a Fire Moth
While we are talking about advancements, there is one you may have achieved and been disappointed by. Attempting to catch a Lava Moth in the Nether will only gain you a Burnt Butterfly Net and an insulting advancement. It’s been requested, and now you can finally catch these flaming moths!

By applying Magma Cream to your Butterfly Net, you will get a Fireproof Butterfly Net. This can be used just like any normal Butterfly Net, except it won’t burn if you attempt to catch a Lava Moth. And, of course, you will get an advancement for doing so!
So go out and catch one. Pin them in your Butterfly Books or trap them to make a glowing Bottle. And keep an eye out for more new butterflies and moths that you will be able to catch soon!
