This week I work through and fix several bugs that have been on the backlog for a while. With this I now have a much more stable code base that I can build upon when implementing new features.
Missing Recipes
I honestly don’t know how this went unnoticed for so long, but there were no recipes for Butterfly Scrolls made from moths. This means that a lot of the moth-based achievements and features are completely inaccessible in Survival Mode.
This has now been fixed. Players can now create Moth Scrolls, analyze them in the Butterfly Microscope, and add them to Butterfly Books as was originally intended.
Lepidopterist Homes are Less Rare
I’ve noticed that people are finding it hard to find Lepidopterists. Of course, you can always create them by using a Butterfly Feeder as a job block, but I want them to be discoverable in world.
So I’ve increased their spawn chance slightly. They will be more common in Plains biomes, but can also be found in any non-snow village.
A Redundant Biome
Versions 1.18.2 and 1.19.2 still had templates for Cherry Grove biomes. Since that biome doesn’t exist in those versions, any time the data was regenerated, it would reference something that couldn’t possibly be found.
That’s now been cleaned up. As of v6.1.11 all references to Cherry Grove biomes have been removed from earlier versions.
Backporting Fixes
Many of the bugs found in 1.21.4 also existed in 1.21.1. The fixes implemented in the later version have now been backported so you should no longer run into the same issues on the older version.
Forgot the Wanderer
Last week I fixed the trades for the Lepidopterist, but I forgot about the Wandering Trader.
The Wandering Trader now also uses the generated code, so you should occasionally see butterfly trades when they come looking for your emeralds.
Features?
Now that (almost) all of the bugs I’m aware of are fixed, I can get back to working on new features!
Next week I plan to add two new butterflies, and one of them with a special ability that may surprise you…
